Solid Services is a consultancy and engineering firm specialising in the sustainable management and maintenance of concrete buildings and structures.

Consultancy & Engineering

The most important task in the renovation process is advising our clients. We prepare a clear report that gives you insight as to the life expectancy and repair options for a property.

We combine the results of our inspection and laboratory testing in a clear report. In it, we outline the type of damage, the cause of the damage and the necessary repair work. Depending on the intended lifespan, we provide a repair recommendation. This can vary from simply accepting the damage or a localised repair to a complete renovation or even demolition of the structure.

Thinking along and thinking ahead
Solid Services takes the time to explain the report, think along with you and answer any questions you may have. What is our opinion of the structure? Which materials would be best for this renovation? Which contractors would be best to hire for the job? With Solid Services at your side, you are assured of optimally sustainable, cost-saving building management strategies.

Work description or specification
Based on the chosen building management strategy and the corresponding programme of requirements, we turn our recommendation into an unambiguous work description or specification.
Subsequently, we can then request quotations from specialised contractors, or prepare an invitation to tender. The advantage of a work description or tender specification is that it enables effective comparison of the bids from contractors and selection based on price or other criteria (such as MEAT).
A tender specification forms the basis for the contract between client and contractor and therefore also determines the pricing for tenders. Another advantage, in financial terms for example, is the itemisation of contract variations so that you know exactly how much you’ll end up paying in every given scenario. Furthermore, having a tender specification also defines the quality of the work to be performed, by means of product and/or system requirements and external quality controls.
