Rankenstraat Car Park
The residents of the Rankenstraat in Tilburg had a drab, grey car park with a mastic asphalt top deck with evidence of water leakage in many places. As a result, a lot of puddling occurred in the car park below.
The municipality of Tilburg consulted Solid Services for a suitable solution to stop the leaks and to give the car park a total make-over.
Following the investigation carried out by Solid Services, a polyurea-based waterproofing membrane was applied to the asphalt top deck. To give the car park a new, brighter look, we also applied a brand new blue flexible coating system to the floor in the basement. The other concrete components in the car park are painted in shades of white with bright green accents.
Additional information
Polyurea is a synthetic coating material which, after a brief exothermic reaction, produces a very tough and particularly elastic protective layer. It can be applied by spraying or using a roller. In Tilburg, the product was applied using the so-called hot spray technique. As a result, the coating was load-bearing within a few seconds.
