The Student Hotel Amsterdam
Solid Services carries out periodic inspections of the concrete façade elements of The Student Hotel in Amsterdam. The elements are assessed for defects and imperfections. The technical condition of the pointing is also assessed.
The façade elements are concrete sandwich panels with a washed-out gravel structure and are a typical example of gravel concrete architecture from the 1960s. For the preservation of the concrete elements, it is important that moisture cannot penetrate into the elements. Solid Services carried out the inspection using rope access. Despite being informed in advance, hotel guests were often quite shocked to suddenly see an inspector hanging in front of the window.
